Climbing Frames – The New Tree Climbing?

I was sat at my PC yesterday thinking about how modern life has changed from when I was a kid, the best we could hope for in terms of computing was a little black box which played tennis with pretty crude graphics. The world has completely changed with the onset of technology, technology I could have only dreamed about when I was a kid and I am only in my thirties now! So then I thought what did I do when I was young for fun? Well I used to love climbing trees; whenever I saw a tree I was up it like the proverbial ‘rat up a drainpipe’. We used to be out and about quite a lot, my little ‘gang’ or with my parents, but the pace of life back then was much different to the pressures of modern living.

Many parents, me included, find it hard to create quality time for our children, there is always something to do round the house and the pressure is often on both parents to work to keep the household. The answer, for our household, is the great climbing frame we have in the back garden. Now we try and get the kids out of the house as much as possible but at least now they can go and jump around in the back garden without limits and ‘go climbing trees’ as I used to. It is by no means a substitute for family days out but the kids love it and I know they are getting a great deal of exercise out of the climbing frames we have now and have purchased in the past.
