George Nissen – the inventor of the trampoline sadly passed away at the age of 96, on 7th April 2010.
He was a schoolboy gymnast who was inspired by the circus arielists who used to flip and somersault whilst bouncing in the net under the trapeze.
Mr Nissen’s invention brought trampolining to the masses initially through gyms and then to the home. This vision then had it’s crowning glory when it was recognised as an Olympic sport in 2000.
