A Hull-based teen trampoline champion has secured a spot on the ropes with the Dark Knight himself – Gotham City’s Batman.
Mike Zwahlen emailed the organisers of the Batman Live World Arena Tour after his parents spotted an advert online seeking talented acrobats for the masked vigilante’s supporting cast.
The 18-year-old was selected from among thousands of other young hopefuls and given a one-year contract with the show. One of the factors that literally bounced him above the competition was his trampolining skills, gained with the Hull High Fliers team, which recently led to him winning first prize at the city’s Yorkshire National Gala.
“I don’t know at this stage exactly what I will be doing but I am part of the ensemble cast doing acrobats, juggling and circus tricks,” he told his local paper, the Hull Daily Mail.
“There will also be stage fighting and martial arts. I will be asked to do things I’ve never done before so I will be learning a lot of new skills.”
